500ml bottle from Micro Beer Crate, online. Dark brown pour with big beige head, lovely looking head and retention, half a glass of lacing at the end. Looks stunning. Aroma is roasty, coffee, some blackcurrant noted hop, some spice. Taste is coffee and roasted bitterness softened with a blackcurrant and light-tart citric element, some grain, hint of spice. Near medium bodied with a nice smoothness, slight dry finish. These guys are a little underrated I think. This is my third bottled beer from them and they all look great and have good flavour.

Bottle gift from my brother – drank at home. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a sizeable but transient tan head. This proved to be a surprisingly fruity beer. Roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth the fruits came first followed closely by toffee and malts then some hints of liquorice and alcoholic strength. Slightly bitter overall but with underlying sweetness – more bitterness and hints of spice in the finish. Started off decent and got even better – I like it !

Bag in box so no head but rich dark brown coloured body. Malt & liquorice aroma. Medium bodied, soft & clean. Toffee, liquorice, malt & roasted tastes with a tangy finish. Nice one.
