Bottle thanks to myself buying at the brewery. Now it says right on it highly carbonated please make sure to refriedgerate 24hrs before opening. Well after 7 hours i was too thirsty to wait and it fizzed and exploded all over kitchen. But now to rate the 3/4 of a bottle i had left. Great looking dark brown/plum color with tons of good aroma. I can taste the wine barrel a lot and its more like a sour than porter, but there is that smokiness and porter backbone. so delicious i wish i had 25% more to drink tonight.

750 mL bottle courtesy of j12601. Batch 3, and a major gusher. Thanks! Pours a dark reddish brown color with a large frothy brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of smoke, chocolate and a bit of tannic tartness from the wine. The taste is tart wine notes, grapes, lightly roasted malts, chocolate, faint oak and a smoky, nutty finish. Smooth, medium bodied.

Batch #2. Popped the top and gushed all over the sink. Man, I hate that. Pours a slightly watery opaque black with a frothy, active tan head. Aroma is bretty, I was very surprised at the tartness of the brett on such a dark beer. Nose also has plenty of wood pulp, dark cherries, red grapes, heavily oaked red wine, smoke, burnt toast and some light sweetness. Flavor is again big on the brett, tart, sour, wood pulp, red wine, red grapes, toasted grains, bread, slight smoke, some brown sugar sweetness, chocolate. Finish is all at once slightly sweet, slightly tart and only medium bodied. Very unique. I was surprised at how well the brett flavors and the wine flavors and the porter flavors all came together. Batch 4, pours a nearly opaque, deep dark brown with a thin, creamy off white head. Nose is fruity, cherry, mold, berry, toasted bread, grassy, musty. Flavor is sweet, tart, berry patch, smoke, sour, peaty, apples, strong pear flavor, light chocolate, cherry. Brett all the way. Some nice acidity from the red grapes on the tongue. Full bodied, tart finish. Very unique, very enjoyable.

Batch 2 thanks to Cletus. A violent gusher even when chilled a bit. Pours with a mocha brown head over a cola colored body. Aroma of chocolate, wood, wine, tannins, sour cherries, florals and dark fruits. Taste is cocoa powder, smoked coffee grounds, brett, cherry, wood, tannins and goodness. Lively carbonation with a dry finish.

Dry. Oak in the aroma. A little brett in the aroma, and some in the flavor, but not to the level I would like. Moderate malt, and black in color. Some very light vinous quality.

Bottle at home ... with Jan and charlotte ... little bit of a gusher ... black with huge short lived foam head ... tart sourness with a little malt in background nose ... light roast malt and definite red wine tones ... not working ofr me ... Still its another im glad to have tried, as ive had no other wine aged beers 2.4... 2 days later and the remains of the bottle ... still gives a fizz pop when i pop the cork ... the red wine is more prominent in the nose ... flavour has picked up some more sour woody tones ... 2.8
