Muddy brown. Vinous, chocolatey aroma with plum and pear...near endless depth of complexity. The body is a lttle bit spritzy, but really vibrant. Great flavours - wood, wine, chocolate, pear, smoke, Ting, and on it goes. A real masterwork.

Bottle courtesy of thecheeseman. Pours black with tan head. Sour aroma with vanilla, oak and smoke. Flavors of oak, smoke, vanilla and funky sourness. The aging in the wine barrel really adds a nice touch of wine to the taste. Very nice.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a tan head. Malt, light oak, light smoke aroma. Tart wine flavor with light malt. Medium body. The tartness and wine linger with light smoke and good malt. Tries hard.

Courtesy of tpd975. The pour is dark dark brown with thin mocha head. The aroma is big and brash with big funk barrel notes, red wine fruitiness, light dark fruitiness, fresh cut oak planks and red wine tannins. At the end of the draw there’s some roastiness and burnt malts. The taste starts red wine and sherry-ish sweet and then quickly becomes tart and tannin like. Midway and to the finish the tartness dwindles enough to allow some roastiness to show through while mild funky barrelness and oak notes make an appearance.

Bottled. Aroma of oak wine, hint of coffee, bit fruity. Wine taste, fruity, bit dry. Taste is better than aroma.

Bottle courtesy of tpd975 Pours black, with a brownish head. Aroma is of dark fruits and caramel. Malt and light taste of oak, lightly roasted and couldn’t really find any "smoke" in this beer. Maybe alittle too acidic.

22 fl oz bottle, thanks to Papsoe. Pours dark brown to black with a lacing light brown and creamy head. Extremely fruity and with smooth acidic notes from the bret and barrel. Light roasted malt note too. Flavour starts citric but soon goes into a nice roasted malt flavour before a nice dry and mild woody note appears. Smooth roasted and fruity finish with a light brett note along.8-4-9-5-17=4.3

From bottle #31 at sk8vikings American blind tasting. Pours dark brown to black with a collapsing tan head. Smoked and roasted malt aroma. Light acidic too. Flavour is acidic and mild smoked. Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet wtih notes of wine, herbs, grapes, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of wine, as well as notes of wood, roasted malt, and a light tart brettanomyces note, almost giving it a flavor of a lambic, leading to a very dry woody finish where the note of wine carries thru. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of BrianK. Pours an almost opaque black with a vague tint of orange and a dense, creamy beige head. Tart aroma of Brett with lots of pleasant woody accents. Medium body, some burned malt but in a subdued fashion. Again wood and a lightly sour astringent Brett. Light and dry finish. Very refreshing and highly drinkable due to the low ABV. 250608 and 260708

750 bottle Colin brought back from his trip to NYC. Batch 2. Shared with us at Uber Tavern in Seattle. Pour is deep dark brown ruby, smallish tan head. Aroma is mostly about the red wine, it is remarkable how much this smells like a Pinot Noir. Behind the wine is some roasted maltiness. Taste of sour sharp winey maltiness. Smoked roastiness. Interesting taste, but pretty divergent from a beer. Finish has sourness. An interesting experiment to be sure, but the end result was in a sort of no man’s land for me.
