Bottle looks simple but good. The beer in the glass brownish, small head. Spicy aroma. Starts strong, quite alcoholic-sharp, more and more spicy. Hints of caramel and some dried fruity. Finish well balanced, still alcoholic, modest sweet. Okay.

Bomber shared with brenn79, poured into tulip. I drank one of these when it was released (before I joined Ratebeer) and bought an extra one to age to 2012 back then, but I don’t remember anything about it. Much to our surprise, my brother found an extra one (along with an ’08) in his cellar so we’re gonna rate it. First glass pours clear copper with some sediment floating around. Second glass is hazy orange with lots of sediment. Has a medium quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma is fruity and floral, almost cloying. Taste is sweet, meaty and old. I taste cinnamon and ginger. Carbonation is pretty low, body is medium-full. Tastes like a Christmas beer. In my humble opinion, age hasn’t been kind to this beer. 6/3/7/3/15



12/22/12 re-rate: Bomber into tulip. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head with great retention. Aroma is caramel malt, apples, white wine grapes, oxidation--smells old and cloying. Taste is sweet, but not cloying thankfully; it’s savory and fruity with a slightly tart finish. The ginger comes through, but it’s not strong. Carbonation is soft and the body is medium to full. This was better fresh. 6/4/6/3/15

Der hefige Antrunk ist deutlich von den süßen Alkoholiegkeit beeinflusst. Diese bleiben mit der Zeit konstant, stärker werden nur die grasigen Noten, die allerdings nicht vom Hopfen auszugehen scheinen. Nun ist das Bier ziemlich süß und scheint kaum ausgeglichen, wenig herb, zu süß. So wirkt das Bier nun recht klebrig und weniger ausgewogen. 9/10/8/9/11/9

cloudy orange, small white head. dry malty, spicy aroma. well balanced. hint of mustard? flavor is spicy, fruity, dry.

Aroma: The nose has a mix of spice and fruity notes, with some yeast notes as well
Appearance: This one pours a dark orange color with a smallish sized head
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is similar to the nose, much better then the RNH keg, which didn't work for me
Palate: The body is medium and it has some average carbonation remaining
Overall Impression: This one was pretty decent. The first time I tried it there must have been something wrong with the keg, because my notes do not even seem like the same beer. It still wasn't a favorite for me from the tasting, but it was a solid beer.

Aroma: Nose is an odd mix of wine, caramel, and a little pine/resin
Appearance: It pours into the glass an amber-orange sort of color
Flavor: The taste is malty, some wine, and a harshly bitter hop finish
Palate: This one wasn't particularly palatable, it has a harsh and boozy mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I wasn't really a big fan of this one. I don't know if it just didn't age well or if it just didn't work for my palate, but it was my least favorite of the verticals I've gotten to try thus far.

Aroma: Sweet citrus, peppery and lemon peel
Taste: Sweet malts, pepper and coriander

Draught at Churchkey. Pretty decent ale with light spice and medium body, interesting, but not very complex.

31st July 2010. ChrisO’s ’Raise The Roof’ tasting. Hazy amber beer with a big off white head. Sweet malt - a little spicy. Honey, pepper and other spices. Finishes and dry and soft. Nice.
