KYGGE 220423. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is chili, mango, roasted malt. Flavor is chili, mango, roasted malt, licorice, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Nice beer.

Superficial sample from Gunnfryds ticker party. Dark brown/amber body under a thin tan head that fades quickly. Aroma has dark malt, licorices, chocolate and some coffee. Taste is medium sweet dark malt, chocolate, licorices, some generic fruit and a light hint of chili. Bice body with decent aftertaste. A pretty decent stout that probably don’t have any benefit from the mango and chili, but on the positive side it’s not much of this.

Can. A clear looking dark brown beer topped by a small beige head. The aroma has lots of caramel, some dark chocolate and a hint of coffee and a pleasant fruityness. Mango notes. It's sweet and full-bodied, lighlty warming, with a very soft carbonation. Toffee, dark chocolate and some mango notes in the flavor. Coffee notes. Long finish. Pleasant chili notes all the way. A decent pastry stout indeed. 230422

Pours hazy amber brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, toffee and licorice. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long toffee, caramel and brown sugar finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Blackish very dark brown body, off-white head. Sweetish, sugary almost but also tart aroma, mango all over the place hah, but also a solid maltiness. Lean, dry taste, coffee, dark maltiness, alcohol, some light burn, subdued mango. Kinda works, though I didn't dig the body, likely due to alcohol.

On tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. The aroma and flavour reveal that there is a very decent and basic imperial stout underneath here, so what is the point with the mango? I suspect that it is here just because it is considered "fashionable" (the moderate addition of chili I can understand - sort of). Well, the moderate mango does not taste bad - it just does not bring anything of value to the beer. Still, the beer is very drinkable.

Can at home. Has a dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of chili, chocolate, cocoa, coffee and winegums. Flavour of dark chocolate, coffee, winegums, roasted malt and slight chili burn in the end. Has a slick and slightly silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a soft bitterness. A little careful aroma, but is quite sweet and flavourful with a solid touch of chili.

Can from Vinmonopolet, Lillehammer. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and sugary fruit. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with a minor chili burn and a little alcohol. 090223
