500ml Bottle- Dark brown with red tinges. Raisins, berries, wood and some spicy and malty notes in the aroma. Malty and sweetish taste with leather, raisins, berries and some rich notes in the finish.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, and consumed Saturday 8th April 2023, had this back at Frank after an almost 60km cycle ride from Biberbach-Ulm-Biberbach listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6Music, we had Shepherds Pie for tea. Pours dark reddish brown, very clear, the head disappeared rapidly. A little bit sweet with a diluted toffee taste, drinks easier than an 8% beer should, but really all told I'm a tad disappointed, it's fine but I'm not overly excited, in fact the Augustiner Weisse beer that I had and which I've had 100's of times before really showed this up.

Thuisbrunner Elch 1.21 Gigawatt, Flasche von Grabsch. - Schwarzbraun, klar; enttäuschend schaumlos. - In der Nase verhaltenes aber mächtiges Röstmalz, Mokka, Bitterkakao, zarte fruchtige Säure, etwas Zitronat, Kräuter. - Antrunk intensiv röstmalzig und satt karamelsüß, kaffeebitter, sehr glatt. Feine Zitrone, ein wenig Asche; sehr milde herbale Hintergrundhopfung. Wenig rezent, annähernd vollmundig aber ohne die sortentypische wuchtige Schwere. Im Abgang fein röstmalzbitter und nur dezent hopfenwürzig herb. - Für einen Doppelbock beinahe schlank, zwar kräftig röstmalzig aber auch ziemlich süß, dazu nur sparsam gehopft, wirkt dieser Bock doch etwas lahm.
