Can: pours blackish with beige head. Aroma is whisky, wood, dark chocolate. Chocolatey, not too sweet, licorice. Weirdly thin for a large beer such as this.

Beer In A Box Advent Calendar 2023 16/24.

Can at home, from Yards & Crafts online, 21/05/23. Black with a light khaki head that dissipates edgewards. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, fruit cake mix, mellow bourbon rip, molasses, toffee fudge. Taste comprises ripe bourbon, spice, dark malts, light roasted edge, chocolate melt, liquorice, balanced alcohol, toasted brown sugars. Medium bodied with bite, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid easy drinking and well balanced Bourbon BA impy.

Can shared with Laura. Opaque black color, small off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasted malts, a hint of peppers in the flavor, light liquorice hints, light bourbon coming through the firm oatmeal malt base. Pleasant bitterness, malt bitterness, light chocolate hints even. Pleasantly viscous, suitable carbonation, pleasant medium body. Really nice.

330ml can. jet black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Bourbon supported, sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark toffee, dark chocolate, dark caramel. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark toffee, dark chocolate, dark caramel, Bourbon; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Intense but rather monotonous - OK.
