A blend of Stauning Rye Whisky barrel aged Baltic Porter and Woodford Reserve barrel aged double mash Imperial Stout.with Ugandan Givrée vanilla - nitro served.

A collab between Øllebrødre and Pleasanti Street.

The idea behind DOUBLE RIGGER STOUT, came then we needed around 1/3 of beer to fill a Woodford Reserve barrel along a Double Mash Stout. We had some Stauning Rye Whisky barrel aged Baltic Porter laying around in stainless steal tank, so we decided to blend that in and aged it further. We then added a quite expensive and rare Givrée vanilla beans from Clemens Fehr in Uganda. The Givrée vanilla has been allowed to start maturing on the plant and forms crystals on the outside of the vanilla which lead to a high vanillin content and an aromatic intensity that pairs very well with the chocolate and roast from the blended beer.

In the end we wanted to create something special at MBCC 23, so we force carbonated the beer with nitro.

On tap at MBCC 2023, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dark sugars, light roast and molasses. Flavour is full of intense dark sugars, molasses, and deep roast. Thick, viscous and not entirely cohesive. Good but could be better.
