A bigger and bolder version of Öö brewed for its 10th anniversary, aged in cognac barrels.
Taste: A velvety concoction of toasted malts, chocolate ganache and luscious vanilla slowly melt away, until delicate notes of blackberries and heather tips emerge. The finish reveals an elegant cask presentation with notes of warming cognac, dark dried fruits and refined tannins.
Appearance: As pitch black as the night sky, with a dense chestnut head.
Nose: The rich aroma of chocolate and cracked walnuts jump out of the bottle, quickly followed by a gentle touch of vanilla.
Malts: Pilsner zero, Munich, Carafa special T-2, Chocolate dark, Caramel 300, Special B, dark sugar, raisins
Hops: Columbus, Northern Brewer

Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 19/03/23. Pitch black with a dirty tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, earthy roast, vinous, dark chocolate, cognac barrel, spice, dried fruits, nutty, burnt toffee. Taste comprises figgy pudding, dark malts, liquorice, raisins, toffee, dates, stewed fruits, oak, cognac barrel, spike of alcohol. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid well balanced BA sipper that delivers on all fronts.

33cl bottle from Õllepood Pothouse, Tallinn. Pours close to pitch black with a rather short-lived, brown head. Aroma of raisins, wood, dark fruits and mild roasty notes. Sweet, flavourful and complex with dominating barrel flavours. Smooth, desserty and warming - quite enjoyable.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Pitch black body, traces of a beige head. Raisin-driven aroma (makes sense for cognac), lightly, liiiightly buttery aroma, barrel, well integrated alcohol, light cookie, light cellar. Cognac barrel evident in the taste, soft grainy and white raisin notes, cellar, sweet, bitter, warming alcohol, fun! Not my type perhaps all the time, bit too old barrel-like (not too much), respectable.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with no foam, with some people same brown reflections. Aroma is very rich and intense, mixing chocolate and cinnamon, barrel ageing. Body is rather thick, sticky, with no carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, of course also roasty. Final is pretty long and elegant, warm.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin brown head. Aroma: Sweetish, roasted malt, vanilla, boozy Cognac. Taste: Smooth, roasted malt, boozy and sweetish Cognac (white grapes), some hopbitterness, vanilla, wood, caramel and coffee. Hints of dark chocolate. Oily mouthfeel. Full body, below average carbonation. Medium sweet. Long lasting sweetish, boozy Cognac finish. Nice one, but missing the balance of the great first Öö XO Batch.
