Jet black with a tan head. Aroma of roast licorice malt. Flavour is burnt malt, licorice roast on a dry burnt finish.

Can. Roasty aroma with coffee, some liquorice and dark chocolate. Roasty and bitter, light to mild sweet. Body is medium. Pretty good Export Stout, a style I always appreciate.

A: cloudy black, thin, beige head.
A: chocolate sauce, espresso, toast, chestnut.
T: sweetish plum, chocolate, bitter toast, earth.
F: herbal hops, cold coffee, dark chocolate.
P: medium body, thin oily texture, flat carbonation.
Good but lacks some body.

Keg at the wee vault. Pours black, nose is liquorice, roasted, chocolate, taste is sweet toffee, liquorice, bitter, acrid, thin.

Keg at the Wee Vault. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of coffee and cherry. Taste is charcoal, chocolate, dark stone fruit and leather. Ashy fruity finish. Great example of the style.

A black beer, a head is medium and brown. Aroma has hazelnuts, chocolate, some roastiness and caramel, nice. Taste has coffee, chocolate, roastiness. Medium bodied. Very nice beer, balanced.

Pours to an intense black dark red with a porous but persistent head. Coffee, leather, some dark fruit on the nose. Coffee, dark chocolate and sweet up front, lingering nice bitter finish. Smooth and balanced. Nice

Blik 21/24 uit de Beer in a Box adventskalender, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een volle bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, drop en chocolade. De smaak is vol, gebrand, koffie en cacao.
