We, on the Balkans, are harsh people. We are divided by thieving politicians, "historical" books and insane disputes such as this one - who makes the best rakia (also brandy). When we sit around the table, we quickly realize how much we are alike.

Introducing Balkan to the Bones Four Rakias Oak Aged Imperial Milk Stout. With it, we want to honor our shared Balkan traditions, history, pains and love for good rakia.

In the bottle with yellow wax, you will find an imperial stout that we aged with oak chips infused with apricot brandy from the Danube valley. Every fruit and every drop of this elixir is specially controlled by the technologist of Raketa Rakia brandy bar.

Stingy, heavy and raw with some earthiness, hints of apricot and roastiness. Quite unbalanced

Panda thanks to Cloin: Poured a pitch black with a bubble head. Aroma is fruity, roasted malts, woods, apricots, rum, boosty alcohol. Taste is apricots, roasted malts, rum, raisins, woodsy, mega boozy boost, burns the palate in the finish.

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - picked up from 100 Beers. Pours clear black-brown with a frothy, khaki head. Big apricot aroma. Medium sweet flavour, more apricot, cocoa, raw wood, earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, ashy, some more apricot, baking cocoa. Tasty stuff.

Tasting at Chez Bois. Thanks to LKS for losing my Rakia BA cherry. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, thinnish but with a decent dark chocolate streak. The Rakia brings a pleasantly fruity spirit. Some mild aniseed and spirit grain sweetness on the back end. Drinks very easy for the hefty abv. Interesting and drinkable.
