orange, amber color. some hops in the aroma, but its faint, more malt than i would expect from an IPA, the bitterness is there, but i’m missing the floral citrus of the hops i would come to expect. i think this beer has gone downhill over the years, I’ll stick with the tankhouse in the Toronto area.

Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Orange color. Melon and pineapple in the aroma. Firm grassy, citric hopbitter flavor with sweet Cantaloup melon. Firm grassy hopbitter aftertaste. Balance is lacking just a bit, but flavors and aromas are nice.

Tried this one on tap at the Black Tomato in Ottawa. Poured a slight hazy amber colour with a nice head and very good lacing. The nose was of floral hops and sweet malts. Taste started off like a Creemore Spring (delicious - medium floral sweetness) and finished with a very, very bitter aftertaste. Full-bodied mouthfeel. This is the most bitter beer I have ever tasted... and that’s just great !

5/31/09...Murkey brown to copper with a quick show of a head...nice malt filled aroma...hops are here and there...a little earthy and a little thin in the body as well as a little unbalanced....dark fruits mixed with hops in different doses...not terrible, not amazing.....received in a trade with matt7215

341 mL bottle from matt7215. Thanks! Orange-brown with almost no head. Malty aroma with floral hop notes. Strong hop taste... metallic, resin, and some grain also. Drinkable but forgettable.

Short-lived amberish head over foxy-amber beer. Very fresh, flowery hops nose with a touch of limepeel, lunaria, nectarine and garden herbs. Rather British hops flavour (despite it being Chinook...), quite bitter, with a touch of astringency in the finish; flowery, tad metallic finishing. Quite refreshing, smooth, but on the negative side, a bit light, short of empty finish, even if that’s not really a screaming shame at 5.5 % ABV. Quite good, if a tad bitter IPA. Which probably means its not unlike the historical originals - if only it were as alcoholic and malt-backed as those probably were. Txs to Canada’s most famous beerwriter!

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a small, rough, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and citrusy aroma hops. Medium-bodied with some caramel and then a dry - but not overly refined - aroma hopping with some citrus. A bit boring. 290806

Bottle from blankboy. Ruddy orange body, medium-to-thin off-white head. Toasty aroma with bitter earthy hops notes. Rather light body with earthy, bitter piney hops and a light toasty, biscuity body. Bitter but light finish. No apparent alcohol. A decent IPA, but nothing out of the ordinary.
