Handcrafted at the tiny All Saints Brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. Finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which, having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic cherry, strawberry, raspberry or apricot fruit juices and more organic beer to create fruit beers of considerable strength and flavour. The smooth distinctive character of the matured beer serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

1 pint 2.7 fl oz bottle given to me for Christmas by my wife. Poured into my Lindemans flute glass. SC23I1 stamped on the bottle right near the cap. Pour is hazed red amber with a two inch pinkish off white head. Head falls noisily with not much lace. Aroma if fresh cherry / black cherry fruit sweetness, along with mild tartness and a nice yeast element to the back. Nice and fresh, though a bit on the sweet end. Taste is sweet cherry fruit, along with the mild tartness of the nose. Really not tart, but not sugary sweet either. Taste is natural and reminds me of cherry soda. There is only a faint, but pleasant, hint of yeast and malt in the finish. Palate is light to medium bodied, high sparkly carbonation and a quick and clean finish. Fun fruit beer, but ultimately forgettable.

Bottle from some Sam Smith’s pub in Peterborough. Red, orange colour, lasting beige head. Sweet cherry almond aroma, reminds me of a Bakewell Tart. I mean way too wweet. I can’t believe all the sweetness comes from the fruit. Whereas the Raspberry had some interesting tartness, this is straight up cherryade with some almond to go with it. Not unpleasant, it’s a tasty alcopop. Rather good in fact in that way. The bottle lasted oh, about 3 minutes. but the rotting of my teeth lasted much longer. Would happily buy this for a girl such as Sim who likes sweet fruit drinks.

Pours a lighter amber with a large, creamy beige head. The nose is good at first, sort of a true kriek thing, but the sweet and artificial cherry notes soon takeover. Tastes like cherry sparkling water. Just a little malty presense in the tail. The black sheep of the group.

35.5cl bottle; Hazy, reddish coloured hue with a mid-sized pink-coloured foamy head. Sweet and distinctively cherry-fruity nose, also slightly dusty and milky with traces of almonds and marzipan. Sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly sugary cherry-fruity taste that covers mostly everything else, except for some notes of marzipan; sweet and slightly sour and tart, cherry-fruity finish. Not my kind of taste but also not that bad. 16.XI.08

330ml Bottle - Pink/red in colour with a pinky white head. Cherry aroma with hints of strawberry jam. Fruity and sweet taste with almonds, cherries and more hints of strawberry jam. The taste is sweet, but not so sweet that it cannot be taken seriously. Very refreshing.

Sampled from an 18 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby-fuscia color with a huge pink head. The aroma was dryish sour cherry. The flavor was sour and tart cherry with a light nutty undertone. The finish was medium length cherry. Good.

Pours bright blood orange into a shaker. Pink head with excellent retention recedes leaving slight spiders. Cough syrup cherry aromas. Smooth with front to back sour cherries, slight bitter cherry finish.
