Bottle from MiP, thanks! Brown color. Grainy, bready, caramelly aroma. Grainy sweet flavor with caramel and hints of milk chocolate. Caramelly bitter aftertaste with some vegetables.

Bottled (backlog). Amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild alcohol as well as some sugar and mild toasted notes. Flavour is sweet malts, some alcohol, a bit herbal and grassy notes as well as some grainy and mild toasted notes.

Bottle. Pours clear copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, molasses and dried fruit. Roasty, bitter onset, leading to a sweetish, malty body, terminating on a dry note again. Quite boozy, but not that bad. Unbalanced, but much better than virtually all the Krudtugle series.

33cl bottle poured into a ’La Chouffe’ tulip on 31st Dec 2012 during my ’Drinking around Europe’ evening. As you might expect by the name: it’s golden in appearance, but this is an old gold, reddy brown golden colour. On top a thin white covering of weak bubbles. Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose: giving caramel and fruitiness to the aroma. The taste follows the smell: malty and semi-sweet. Not very Christmassy to be honest, just a semi-sweet, high alcoholic lager really. Body wasn’t robust enough to take the alcohol content: an awful headache would follow two or three of these.

Bottle @ home. Pours dark reddish brown with a light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar, bit of sweet dark fruits, wet paper. Flavor is malt, caramel, brown sugar, light grainy. Medium body, soft carbonation, light booze in the finish. 201212

33 cl bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel and alcohol. Sweet taste with some fruit and caramel. A primitive bitterness in the finish - the alcohol is too dominant . Considering the prize this one is not too bad.

Bottle. A clear, copper-colored beer with a small, beige head. The aroma is malty, with some spices and honey. Caramel and malts in the flavor, rather straight forward and dull, not the way I want my Christmas beers. Medium body. Overall, it could go as a Christmas beer, but there’s so many beers that are more tasteful and interesting than this. 101210
