This year's dry-hopped Lupulus from magnum bottles comes with Vista hops, a New World variety developed in 2006 and known for its tropical fruit aromas - and large cones apparently. Egg-white, moussy, rather loosely structured, slowly opening head, misty yellow-golden robe with dots of protein and / or dead yeast throughout. Aroma of dried lemon peel, bread crust, raw button mushrooms, young mugwort leaf, lemon thyme, hints of pineapple, fried banana chips, damp straw, old potato mash, unripe peach, white soap, minerals, apple tree blossoms. Fruity onset, dried banana, green pear and unripe peach, with prickly carbonation and full, rounded, slick body; grainy and white-bready pale maltiness with a bread-crusty edge, carrying phenolic spicy elements (clove, dried chives, thyme) as well as a spicy hoppiness more reminiscent of dried lemon zest than tropical fruits, but still stirring up additional scents of apple blossom, mugwort, grapefruit zest and a touch of pineapple. Lingering bready pale maltiness, yellow-green fruitiness and long peppery, leafy hop bitterness, a bit earthy and 'Belgian' - in fact, lacking the NEIPA-like tropical fruit aromas the Vista should have added. In all, though, a decent Belgian IPA of sorts, like most of its predecessors, and I still enjoy opening a magnum bottle of these in the Christmas period, which has become a bit of a tradition.

Opalescent golden colour, large, dense white head which last for several minutes; aroma and taste of tropical fruity, orange juicy, grapefruity, peach, pear, some grainy and definite hoppy notes (especially in the taste); really good one!

2023 Vintage; draught Very dense & fine, stable white head over veiled orange-golden beer; lacerings. Citrus and lightly coloured malts. Hopoils, faint vegetable frying oil. Spicy malts, dry hops (continental). Fruity esters, yeast flavours, and again this frying oil impression. Medium bodied, hopoilslick. Good carbonation. Better than just decent, but it's not going to whip up frenzies.

Opaque milky yellow colour with thin head. It's a juicy tropical fruit bomb but with earthy, resinous bitterness too.

33cl can, merci à Tim. BB 31/03/2024, canned 31/03/2023.

MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of citrus, grassy, good bitterness, a bit piny, some grapefruit, some tropical fruits. Aftertaste: dry, hay, bitter, grassy, a bit spicy, more citrus, some tropical fruits, hoppy finish, good stuff!
