It’s only a party if you invite your friends, right? So we invited Yakima Chief to celebrate our anniversary together. To mark such moment we brewed a Harvest Rye IPA where we used the brand new Frozen Fresh Cryo hops, Simcoe and Citra meet Chinook. Spicy, round and intense with a solid bitterness

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Pretty piney with resin and pine needle associations. Rye malt backbone, orange, grapefruit. Expected this to be more bitter, but quite nice. Pine remains in the finish.

Keg draught at BrewDog Nottingham. Brownish gold and hazy with a shiny beige head and some lacing. Candied orange peel, sweet caramel, some floral notes on the nose. Tastes sweet in the first instance with candy sugar and some spicy rye, morphing into an incredible bitterness. Thick, full body with medium carbonation. Man this is incredible.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 23/08/23. Moderately hazed orange with a good sized lasting egg shell white head. Nose is bitter orange, rye bread, grains, grapefruit, light spice, orange marmalade, straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, light hop spice, pine needle, grass, grapefruit, bitter tropical fruits, ripe melon, touch of caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced lightly resinous hop bitterness. Decent example of a Rye IPA ... good bitterness and restrained sweetness.
