1999 bottle, 6th DRG. Slight vinous, even sherry-like aroma. Hopcharacter starting up, immediately followed by sherry. Past its peak, still very drinkable.

Great score. Eyedrinkale broke this out late in the NYRBG, thanks Mike. Poured murky yellow. Aroma and taste are is like a lactose-y hop. Mouthfeel is effervescent. I know the rating is short but I really enjoyed this stuff.

6th DRG. Old bottle. Hazy orange color. Bit vinous, some grapes, wood. Still quite sweet beer.

Undated bottle consumed on 12/22/2005 with Siroy and Rastacouere. Gushing bottle pours a hazy straw and gold, with light tangerine-copper notes and a full, (yet oddly), poorly retained white head. Lacing is left on the glass lightly in spots. Aroma shows the chouffe yeast, though it is supplanted with plenty of herbs, dry and most likely coriander, white pepper-like. Definite nectarine skin like tartness, lemon zest (light) and of course some doughy malts. Hops are not noticeable to me at this point. Chouffe yeast is smooth and drying. The flavor is lightly phenolic, unfortunately, just a minor plasticy sort of note, no harsh tones, and even manages to incorporate itself in to the other flavors fairly easily, though it is a bit off-putting. Bubble gum, candied oranges, and mountains of pale malt sugars, doughiness and drying yeast. Remains lightly tart on end, with just a hint of citrus. Body is medium, with a texture that brings fairly large, loose bubbles, almost creating a wet consistency. Some wateriness, a bit of light oxidation (nowhere near the du soleil) and some rusty notes on the end as well.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pale golden with some cloudiness and a fairly small, white head. Lovely fruity nose and the fruitiness continues in the flavours which contain a slight honeyish herbal character as well. Not really full-bodied but rather fresh and quaffable. A well made beer indeed. 050599

(aged sample) Very pale peach-coloured beer; dull yellow coloured, huge, fine-bubbled head, leaving some lace. Spicey, quite hoppy nose, bit root-spice character. Again, very spicey taste, and fruity flavours, like red ’blue’berries (kind of European mini-cranberries). Very ’clean’ malt + hops taste. Medium bodied, no burn, the alcohol playing "hide-and-seek". Neutral aftertaste. Have you had enough beers that strive for exuberance in one or another exotic direction? You want a beer that tastes, well, like good BEER? This is it. Well, it was, as it isn’t brewed anymore.

Tan colour, yeasty, herbal, peachy-malt aromas and flavours, and its lively, refreshing body. I'd call this one a saison.
