Old Gambrinus light er på trods af navnet en meget fyldig og kraftig guldøl. Til brygningen bruges dobbelt så meget pilsnermalt som til Høker.

Clear golden with a medium white head. Sweet aroma containing alcohol malt and hints of caramel. The sweet and somewhat boozy flavour turned out the same way. Boozy finish. Alcohol to present.

label looked sort of foreign, so i expected something belgian, quite surprised to see "skive-denmark" in small letters.. having been already surprised i determined to investigate the label even further... also in small letters.. "light" darn... if this is a low-alc beer, and i thought i heaved a belgian out of the fridge, i’ve been cheated (by myself). ABV acc. to ratebeer 9.6%.. okay.. new meaning of the word light, that i might not know of... clear yellow, small white head. looks quite humble. aroma is a little alc, and not much else. smells like a macro. flavor is sweet, caramel, alcohol, sugar, sweeter part of green fruits, not much bitterness as such, aftertaste a reduced version of flavor. actually okay, but one you might mostly go for, to get drunk ;-)

330ml bottle. This beer looks like a golden pilsner. Aroma and flavor is like one strong lager, a bit to strong lager. Not very well balanced, sweet, strange bitter with lots of alcohol. Really nothing compared with the dark Gambinus brother.

Bottled. Golden colour with mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is toffee, alcohol and some fruity hints. Flavour is very fruity and malty along with some balancing up alcohol. Really wellbalanced beer, which hides the alcohol quite well (for being close to 10%).

Bottle at Chris Shindig. Strong lager aroma. Bit coconutty. Very strong and syrupy, but not overly unbalanced. Goodish hop on end. Hot alcohol.
