A subtle red beer dominated by neither malt sweetness nor extreme hop. We want ‘balance’. Roast malts, whole English aroma hops and bottling with live yeast are the keys to refreshment and drinkability. Great with cheese.

Bottle shared at craft beer Co Covent Garden. 20/11/2018. Many thanks to Leighton. A clear amber coloured pour with a halo of off white head. Aroma is waxy honey, cereal, jammy, dried fruits, little stale. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy, dried fruits, light cake,. Palate is waxy, moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Craft TCR Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton for the antique. Clear amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Crisp oxidised malts, mildly tangy caramel. Little tangy floral fruits. Light dry finish. Clearly aged but fairly drinkable. If you have no shame. I haven't.

Bottle, 5.2% at KØ16. Mild fruity aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white hed. The flavour is fruity with a good isotonic mouthfeel. Very low bitterness.

Fra flaske (bb. 290513) på RBHD-treff hos OG: lett uklar gylden med kort hvitt skum. Mynteaktig aroma med sjokoladesnev, her nevnes After Eight. Tørr bitterhet og tørr ttersmak, smakte egentlig gammelt og ufriskt. Må prøves i frisk utgave en gang, og gjerne before eight.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at OGJ’s 03.03.15. Golden. Off-white head. Mint-chocolate in aroma. Also in taste, combined with hops and fresh fruits. Good drinkability, particularly after eight.

A little more hops makes this a little better than the Oxfordshire for me. Pours amber, a little light than Oxfordshire ESB. Light citrus dose here, texture is a little cloying. Cask at Churchkey.

Bottle. Light amber with an off-white head. Bit of bread, bit of earth, bit of straw, bit of vomit, bit of caramel, bit mellow, bit bland, bit boring. Dull for the strength.
