A subtle red beer dominated by neither malt sweetness nor extreme hop. We want ‘balance’. Roast malts, whole English aroma hops and bottling with live yeast are the keys to refreshment and drinkability. Great with cheese.

Bottle split at CBC Covent Garden, thanks to LKS, 20/11/18. Hazed golden amber with a decent egg shell white covering. Nose is dusty fruits, straw, brown bread, biscuit crumbs. Taste comprises stewed fruits, biscuit malt, light spice, herb, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so.

Craft TCR Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton for the antique. Clear amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Crisp oxidised malts, mildly tangy caramel. Little tangy floral fruits. Light dry finish. Clearly aged but fairly drinkable. If you have no shame. I haven't.

Fra flaske (bb. 290513) på RBHD-treff hos OG: lett uklar gylden med kort hvitt skum. Mynteaktig aroma med sjokoladesnev, her nevnes After Eight. Tørr bitterhet og tørr ttersmak, smakte egentlig gammelt og ufriskt. Må prøves i frisk utgave en gang, og gjerne before eight.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at OGJ’s 03.03.15. Golden. Off-white head. Mint-chocolate in aroma. Also in taste, combined with hops and fresh fruits. Good drinkability, particularly after eight.
