A dark and rich porter inspired by the Baltic porters traditionally made in Scandinavia. Roasted without being burned or bitter, with the flavor dominated by dried fruits and vinous notes. High amounts of residual sugars and a fruity aroma makes this beer the perfect companion for chocolate desserts, if served lightly chilled.
Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, British Brown Malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, two types of caramel malt and brown sugar.

Dark black body with a medium creamy dark brown head. Huge chocolate and roasted malt aroma with some caramel and molassas. Flavor of lots of roasted malt, light chocolate, rum soaked fruit, caramel, smoke, and light molassas. Medium body with moderately high carbonation and a rather smooth roasted finish.

supermarket can at $2. 33cl. Nice coffe aroma. Black, brown solid foam. Great taste, none of the disturbing nuances you usually find in a cheap port. aftertaste is dominated by roasy notes. Tastes great. Palate is nice too, full and smooth. This is real good, and outstanding for a canned beer at $2 retal. I wonder if it has been brewed by GB or ølbryggeriet. I’ll buy some more of these. Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. The beer pours a viscous black color with a thin dark tan head that has good staying power. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Complex aroma of roasted malt, coffee and sweet chocolate. Rich body with a pleasing array of flavors from cocoa, coffee and chocolate to hops, berries and mild tobacco. The finish is full and satisfying with bittersweet chocolate and coffee lingering in the aftertaste. This beer walks a fine line to being an Imperial Stout and a pretty good one at that. Overall it is one of the better Porters I have had in quite some time.

Bottle, shared with Ian having returned home from the Ratebeerian day around Oxford 09-02-08 A Big, big thanks to Ian (Harrisoni) for this beer Pours dark brown with a beige head amazing aroma of coffee and milk chocolate, oh but the taste is simply stunning, I’m looking at the rest of my notes taken after the end of a day’s drinking in Oxford and what a load of bollocks I started writing (not for the first time, I hasten to add) "I’m in St Marks Square, Vienna (think I meant Venice) looking across towards the cathedral" I’ve never been there what was I on??? Was it the coffee notes making me think this?? Anyway back to normality, It was simply stunning, silky chocolate, lovely creaminess my notes have run out it was great cheers Ian

This beer is everything its cracked up to be! Poured a brown tinted black that was opaque in the glass with a large foaming head that was almost black itself! aroma was huge with chocolate drenched coffee beans and roasted barley. Flavor was semi-sweet with loads of bitter chocolate, some roast. Full palate but soft carbonation gave it a velvety mouthfeel. Semi-dry finish. Touches of molasses. Awesome.

Thanks to Crosling for this. Pours with a large creamy tan head over a dark mysterious brew. Lots of malt aroma going on here. Nutty, grainy, strong coffee, chocolate, maybe cocoa powder. Sweet, with a bitter finish. Soft, full bodied. Nice

Bottle of joy: Poured a deep dark black reminded me of road crew work, with a creamy brown head. The aroma was deep rich dark fruit with roasted malt. The flavor is bitter fruit at first but leads directly into that rich roasted malt taste. Its worth every point of the rating.

(Bottle) Pitch black colour with frothy, brown head. Roasted, fruity nose with chocolate, cocoa, danish dark rye bread, liquorice, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and hints of nuts, possibly hazel nuts. Roasted, fruity taste with massive flavours of chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit, soy sauce (or rather the sweeter indonesian ketjap manis), sweet coffee and roasted nuts. Balanced cocoa bitterness in the finish. Medium to full body, rather sweet bot not overly so. A world class porter. Lovely stuff!

Rich and full of flavor, this is a delicious porter that comes close to an imperial stout in body and aroma. Dark opaque brown pour with tan head. Chocolate, smoke and roasted malt and coffee fill the nose. Notes of molasses and vanilla. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and moderately bitter. Full body. Creamy texture, light carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Delicious.
