Bottle Brownish body with a deep brown head. Nose of strong malts, wine, ... not overwhelmingly intense which makes it quite nice. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour.

pours dark orange/cloudy, thick off-white head. aroma is well hopped, citrus, hints of caramel and yeast. flavor, caramel malts, citrus hops, some light coriander spice, festive ipa is more of the style, keeps a caramel-toffee like finish, medium carbonation. Finishes with an enjoyable light spiced palate and lingering hops.

Bottle 2008-12-20, Göteborg AP: brown/red gingerbread house. AR: Thin smell!! F: amercan hops, no nice x-mas flavors here. A bit boring when you expect some cinnemon...

Hazy dark amber color with a large off-white head. Aromas of wood, spruce, and spice. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is wood, spruce, cardamom and almost chocolate. It’s not all that spicey. It has a lot of flavor. Maybe tobacco, but not leather. It’s really interesting and fairly complex. Finishes with a lot of impact on all the little taste buds. Really nice.

Bottled:
Pours dark hazy reddish brown wih an ok head. Aroma is cinnamon and soapy hops. I found the flavour to be a bit unbalanced; starts off quite sweet, but after awhile it turns into a sharp, hoppy bitter thing. The beer is drinkable, but could’ve been better.

Nice potent deep brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head showing large bubbles and a muddy appearance. Aroma of fresh citrus and piney hops, roasted malt, peat, vanilla and oak - not too much spice though. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive piney hops come out first with a bit of brown sugar sweetness, tucked in with some nuts and a mellow spiciness. Aftertaste shows good hops, a pleasant alcoholic warming feeling touched with a little spiciness, but not much at all. Overall, a good beer - but not amazing by any stretch. I’m happy to sample this, but I probably would have preferred another. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida on 15-February-2009, sampled two weeks later on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Cloudy amber, with a sudsy lace - the aroma has a strong spice to it (mostly cinnamon and nutmeg), with dry cocoa underneath, a bit of vegetal character - low carbonation - feels almost "from the cask" in the mouth - some caramel sweetness starts things off, and serves as an underpinning for marris otter maltiness, notes of cinnamon, and a little bit of spruce-like character - the hops aren’t really present at all, which is surprising, considering the commercial description - rich in flavor, but still not terribly complex - finishes a little vegetal, and there is a medicinal quality in the aftertaste that comes close to ruining the experience, but otherwise this is okay.

Dark brown-reddish color with a Beige foam. The aroma has a lot of spices and malt. The flavor is of herbs and caramell with a nice, moderate bitterness at the end.
