The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Elderberries were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

Bottle from the Meerts box. Clear reddish. Huge Boon/Tilquin funk, hay, soft red wine, tannic berries, cassis, soft oak. Light sour and bitter, even lighter sweet. A bit dry. Great funk, super drinkeable, really my thing.

Red orange with a lasting white head. Aroma of Tilquin funk with dark berries and a touch of fresh wood. Dry and tart fruity flavour red berries. Nice and clean satisfying fruit lambic.

Bottle, 2020-2021. Color: Clear purplish red, pinkish off-white head. Aroma: Fruity, floral, funky, light tartness. Taste: Fruity. Elderberry, gooseberry, floral notes, horse blanket funk, some tannins, wood and earthy notes, hints of hay. Dry mouthfeel. Over moderate tart. Over medium mouthfeel. Below average carbonation. Refreshing. Nice.

Flaska från Etre. Klar rödorange vätska utan skum. Fläderbär med tanniner och syrlig stramhet. Funkig och jordig lambic, citroner, äppelkart, syrliga bör. Gott och uppfriskande.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Beer Merchants. Pours clear, honey-gold with reddish tints and a creamy, white topping. Lightly sweet, nice white pepper character, some tart berries, moderate acidity, a little wood. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Lightly drying to finish, quite quenching, more tangy berries, clean white pepper. Delightful little guy.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Cloudy pink orange. Barnyard, manure, oak, moderately sour, bitter lemon rind, spicy note. Very nice.
