The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Airelles sauvages (wild lingonberries) were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

375 ml bottle. Pours a copper color with no head. Aromas of oak, gooseberries, green berries, grapes, a little farm hart and sharp wheaty malts. Flavors of cottony fruit, green berries, oak and dry sharp wheaty malts. Tart and tasty.

Sampled with Peter, who ordered this at The Jeffrey in NYC. Probably from a cask. Deep gold with a creamy, white head. Aroma is funky and full of gooseberries and green apple. Sour with a lingering, green apple tartness. Lightish body, refreshing. Not bad.

375 c&c from Tavour. Pours translucent orange gold with a very transient white head. Funky lambic aroma. Med body. Quite dry. Funky, yeasty with reddish berry notes. Nice.

Bottled 375ml. -at Ambasada Zagreb. Unclear red coloured, small off-white head, slightly perfumed fruity nose. Fruity, berries, yeasty and light funky with quite dry finish.

Poured from 375mL bottle (bb 11/10/2027 - 2021-2022 vintage). Hazy golden orange with minimal white head. Nice funk with very feint berry underlay. Enjoyable.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, with lots of big fruity berries, currants, and a touch of funk. Flavour is dry and fruity, with lots of red berries and currants upfront, and moderate funk still poking through. Finishes quite funky and nearly bone dry in berry character. Excellent.
