The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Airelles sauvages (wild lingonberries) were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, with lots of big fruity berries, currants, and a touch of funk. Flavour is dry and fruity, with lots of red berries and currants upfront, and moderate funk still poking through. Finishes quite funky and nearly bone dry in berry character. Excellent.

Dark golden colour with thin head. Aroma starts quite jammy and perfumed. Even has elements of strawberry and rose. Tart taste, red fruit acidity. Dry woody finish.

hazy orange colour with some reddish notes, minimal slightly ruby-ish off-white head; aroma of citric acidy, tannines, woody, some earthy, acetone and unripe grape and berries notes; taste is the same; great one!

Bottle. Just unclear amber with a fat coat of off white head. 3+ Funky dirty barn aroma with berries, old lemons, damp wood. Lovely creamy, soft texture is just mouthfilling with gentle berries and wood under moody off dry lambic. Moderately sour. Some herbal notes at the end.

Bottle @ home. Rather clear golden body under a foamy white head. Champagne type carbonation. Nice funky aroma, cellar notes, wood and a light impact of red berries. Taste is quite tart with acidic and bitter lingonberries, malt, wood, lemon and funk. Fine body with a dry, tart, acidic aftertaste. A nice, very refreshing and quite acidic lambic. Interesting and slightly unusually flavor for a lambic.
