Weird Era is our 3 year blend of spontaneously fermented lambic inspired ales. Mashed with pilsner malt and unmalted wheat, it was boiled for three hours with aged whole cone hops before being cooled overnight in our coolship and transferred into French Oak barrels the following morning. A poignant gaze into time and place, this beer showcases three specific nights in South City St. Louis. This blend is comprised of twenty-fire percent three year old, fifty percent two year old, and twenty-five percent one year old lambic inspired oak fermented ales. Packaged into green glass bottles on November 19th 2021, this beer will continue to develop and age gracefully over a number of years.

Pours clear blonde, fairly large white head. Scent is doughy, malty, mild brett, some wood. Buttery funk. Taste is Mcuh more acidic than anticipated. Actually quite sharp and dry, not acetic at all, but so harsh - true AmLam. VERY high carbonation. Not very balanced at all. Quite harsh and way to sharp. Not amongst the better AmLams, let alone to call this 'lambic style'... As it warms up, shows quite a bit of band-aid. Turns funky acetic... Ended up as a drainpour. Underwhelming for sure.

Bottle at Peders Turns 8 - Vol 2, Copenhagen 07/12/2024 Tart sour fruity, notes of citrus, apple, barnyard, funky, medium body and acidity, tingling on the palate, wooden accents into the tart fruity close.

750ml (thx, Brent L.!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: oak, some vanilla, funk, baking spices. Taste: quite acidic, along the same lines. Overall: way too tart, as usual, unfortunately.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazed gold with small white head. Lambic-inspired is not lambic. That said, oak and funk, a bit wheaty and citrusy with average acidity. Decent (not rating it based on the RB style).

750mL bottle, pours a moderately hazy golden with a small medium head. Aroma has a nice wild bugginess, some gentle stone fruits, a little melon, and very low-level phenols. Flavour is very acidic -- really hits you in the side of the mouth -- with lots of bugs, sour stone fruits, apple core, and just too much acidity on the finish. Not remotely gueuze-like, but it does have a nice wild yeast character despite the aggressive acidity. Finishes with apple core, apple skins, bugs, and acidity. I'm of mixed opinion here.

Bottle at SP Invitational. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is funk and citrus. Thin body, funky, apple skin, citrus, nice tartness, enjoyed this.

At BXL. Clear golden. Crisp malts, funk, deep sour in a citrus way but also a tiny touch of vinegar. Light lactic, earthy. Quite sour.

BXL22/d2. Best wel hard zuurtje. Scherp maar verfrissend. Druiven, stro, en weinig inspiratie om te schrijven.
