(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, dried figs, chocolate, orange and treacle toffee. Malty, slightly roasted taste with notes of dark bread, dried figs, chocolate, orange, toffee and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Harmonious and well balanced dunkel. Nice one.

Clear amber/brown. Aroma is chestnut caramel melasses. Taste is rather sweet malt with light sour carbonation and a hint of bitter melasses. Still rather balanced. Light copper finish. Alright.

On tap at brewery, Aldersbach Friday 2nd June 2023, another day of stunning weather with a further bonus that we're parked here at the brewery with electrics for free. Difficult to determine colour as it's in a krug. The nose suggests sweetness to come with a little caramel and some bready notes. Toffee and caramel also the aforementioned breadiness returns in the flavour department, good simple dunkel that is not too sweet.

Klar, mahagonifarben. Schaumentwicklung medium bis gering. Süßes Dunklemalz und röstig-bittere Aromen - mit leichtem Überhang zu letzterem. Außerdem ein Hauch Traubensaft und winzige Spuren von Leder. Kaffeenoten könnte man hier durchaus auch noch mit reininterpretieren, dunkle Schokolade eher nicht. Schön weich, obwohl gar nicht mal so wenig Kohlensäure vorhanden ist. Recht süffig, hat etwas weniger Substanz als 5,2 % Alk und 12,5 % Stammwürze erwarten lassen. Anständiges dunkles Bier - obwohl ich persönlich es bei dem Bierstil hier noch etwas malziger und weniger röstig-bitter bevorzuge.

Dark amber wit off white head - Caramel malt aroma - Malt body with some caramel flavours and there is a nicer hop bitterness to balance - Caramel malt goes into the finish with ome hop bitternes in the back - This was nice
