330ml bottle as a gift from danlo. Thanks Ed! It’s very dark. Very dark brown with no head. Weird aroma that I can't really place. I suppose it smells like tequila and stout together but to me it smells like robots, chocolate and fear. Seriously there’s quite a lot of stone fruit along with agave syrup. And chocolate annd black grape. And fear. Tastes of tequila and dark caramel. Sweet but not unreasonably so. Thick, oily body with almost no carbonation. Joking aside, I love tequila but I’m not 100% convinced it belongs anywhere near a beer. Nice to see BrewDog brewing something interesting though. And overall it’s a nice drink, just not amazing by impy stout standards.

330ml bottle - Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate and rich dark fruit, prunes, figs and red berries. A moderately sweet taste, dark roasted malts, chocolate and dark fruit, prunes, figs, raisin flavours with warming alcohol, oak, and spicy notes in a warming finish.

Bottle. Appearance - deep brown. Thin head. Nose - interesting fresh aloe vera, green grape and green apple with toffee lurking. Taste - toffee, mezcal and creamy chocolate. Palate - medium bodied, tangy and creamy middle and finish. Overall - interesting beer. Not what was expected.

Well... I have to admit that I was excited when reading the label – tequila barrel aged stout is definitely something different. I was less excited when turning the bottle around and looked at a list of ingredients more akin to an energy drink – maltodextrin is not something that you find in a lot of beers. Anyhow, back to business: jet-black pour with a slither of a white head. Aromas of wood (oak?), dried fruit and tequila, a hint of vanilla. Taste is dark chocolate, some fruit, tequila, finishing with a slightly weird aftertaste, might be the sweetener.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 29/07/23. Black with a tan head that dissipates edgewards. Nose is chocolate, dates, raisins, figs, herb, dried red berries. Taste comprises chocolate, light spice, dark malts, herb, mellow oak barrel, dates. Medium bodied with, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid easy drinking sipper.

330ml bottle from Brewdog. Black-brown colour, beige foam head and aroma of berry, vanilla, chocolate, malt, barrel notes. Taste is dark malty, sweet berry, chocolate, with some liquorice, tequila barrel, booze and bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, smooth soft carbonation, and rich finish with malt, liquorice. Nicely drinkable.
