Panda thanks to Cloin. Near opaque dark brown beer, small and short lived bubbly tan head. A fairly light palate all things considered, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, dark malt cream and chocolate, relatively light in the mouthfeel but not the flavour. A touch of dark chocolate Malteasers. The whiskey barrelling feels well judged and the whiskey itself, rather sophisticated - wat? Ripe fruity whiskey with a broad spectrum of malty sweetness. Finishes light with a little boozy spice. Yeah, this one has some pixie dust. Could happily entertain and large bottle in an evening in front of the TV, feet up etc.

Bottle at home, from Craft Beer Central.ie, 30/05/24. No problems reading the label !!! Black AF topped with a fast escaping dirty to golden tan head. Nose is chocolate melt, rich roast, bourbon barrel, molasses, Taste comprises chocolate, dark malts, light spice, bourbon barrel, roasted tones, toffee fudge, touch of honey, molasses, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Solid BA impy stout ... runs a touch sweet but the bourbon and a roast/spice balance pulls it back into check.

Tasting at Peters, Ystad, Sweden (25/11/2023) - sweet dark malty with sweet velvety smooth chocolate, some prominent honey sweetness coming in, full bodied, whisky kissed warming finish. Lovely.

Okay, first off - when you want to review a beer you want to be neutral. You don't want to have a grudge. But when you get frustrated at trying to read the label and you spend a lot of time on it and are frustrated starts to tick you off. I was trying to read this damn label thinking it was saying one thing and after having to use a magnifying glass to find out it said something else well I was ticked. Whoever designed this label should be forced to fight for the Russians on the front line against the Ukrainians. Jesus. The beer isn't that good either. Overly sweet and lots of molasses.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2023. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has sweet dark grains and honey with whiskey and roasted malts underlying. Flavor has bitter dark grains that are cut by the honey with some roast and a whiskey backbone.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Cacao nib, prune, bourbon, oak and mild port wine notes on the nose. Very similar palate with a nice musty apple brandy note with lots of bourbon, oak and cacao nib. Fruit, bourbon and oak on the finish. Stellar!
