A dark brown, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has lots of peat, some caramel. Taste has caramel, dried fruits, dry peat. Medium+ bodied. Lots of peat there.

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of marzipan, caramel, dried fruit, peat, smoke, islay whisky. Nice peaty barley wine.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before December 2026. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, quickly collapsing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky-medicinal, gently fruity aroma of peat, iodine, molasses, raisins and vanilla. Fairly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather smoky-medicinal, gently fruity taste of molasses, peat, iodine, raisins, vanilla and whisky, followed by a long, gently bitter, harsh, boozy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great intense Barley Wine, super peaty, delicious base beer as usual. Good!

Small rim over muddy brown beer. Pure Islay malt, tarr and peat, turf as a sledgehammer. With just a hidden malty gingerbread background. Peat, ashes, turf fire, and to make it complete, Irish soda bread. More Celtic, you die. There is a slight surrounding acidity. Fiery alcoholheat, quite viscous, not very carbonated. If you like Islay malt, you'll love this one. Great one, Kees!

Can. Color: Lightly hazy copper, thin beige head. Aroma: Dark malt, peat, fudge, dark drief fruit. Taste: Dark malt, dark dried fruit notes, peat, boozy. Bit thin mouthfeel at first, but ok finish. Over moderate sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Long lasting finish.
