In our latest iteration of 120 Minute IPA, we’ve enlisted the mystique that is Samuel Adams Utopias barrels to create an experience that’s both familiar and new with every sip you take.
Continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and then dry-hopped with even more hops for an unfiltered and abundantly hoppy brew, 120 Minute was then aged in freshly emptied Utopias barrels. The resulting deep copper-colored beer is bursting with sweet, almost candy-like aromas of citrus and pine, complemented by hoppy, resiny flavors and a lingering bitterness.

clear dark amber to copper colour, minimal ecru lacing; aroma of coconut, maple syrupy-burnt sugar syrupy, butterscotch, apple brandy, raisins, canned apple, whisky-peaty, some port wine, resiny and dark berries notes; bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma and spicy alcoholic aftertaste; great one

0.355l bottle. Many thanks to Lore. Clear amber body with a thin white head. Bold bourbon notes both in the aroma and taste with cinnamon, cedarwood, burnt sugar, coconut, raisins, nutmeg, caramel, orange zest and some vanilla. It's less about the hops, mora about sweet malts and the whiskey barrel. Smooth, rich, complex beer. Wow.

Pours mostly clear reddish orange with very minimal head. It smells of toffee, oak, malt, and booze. The flavor is sweet and really malty. There’s caramel, oak, piney hops, maple, and warming alcohol. Very full bodied. Interesting. Calling it an IPA is misleading in a sense as this is a very different beer from what people would generally think of as an IPA or double IPA.

Bottle
A red copper ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, dark fruits, licorice, resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, alcohol warmth, gin barrel, resinous hops, very nice.

12oz bottle at share. Clear, brass colored pour, thin layer of foam. Sweet, boozy aroma, malty. Taste really brings out the Utopias notes, big, boozy, sweet, caramel topped off withe normal 120 minutes hoppiness. Not for the faint of heart

On tap @... OnTap. Keg kicked in another two short pours. Dull but clear, deep amber, foamy pour. Dry malt, orange bitters, sweet pine, wants to be dry. Taste is aged astringency, touch of caramel sauce, hidden acid, green pepper bite. Lots of subtly for a hot beer. Foamy but half flat. Thick but surprisingly not slimy or very syrupy. Not hot but a delayed fuck up. Surprisingly great.
