German style lager as crisp and refreshing as an autumn hike (which you should bring this beer on).

Clean golden colour with a big frothy, warm-whitish head, good retention and nice creamy-foamy lacing streaks. Hoppy aromas of freshly picked hop buds and their oil. The hops continue into the taste, milder, as a lager, but still quite flavourful. Lightly dry and kind of refreshing. A nice lager with the real hop leaf characteristic.

Pour is a clear brassy gold with a large white head. Aroma is a generic green wet hop. Flavor is more of a generic hop with some neutral malt and a decent enough bitterness. Pretty clean and easy to drink but also not that exciting. Lacks a little chewy malt body.

Never felt Sam Adams has a firm grasp on how to do hoppy beers; their hoppier brews always seem to lack complexity, instead coming across as a focus group consensus of what a hop-driven beer should be. Hoppy Lager is no different; citrus and pine and a clean lager finish. Ticks the boxes but doesn’t stand out.

Spruce, lemon, and biscuit malt aroma. Golden yellow wtih moderate white head and mild effervescence. Minimally sweet lemon, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter spruce, grass, and lemon peel flavor. Light body.
