Copper color. Malt and a hint of metal in the aroma. Fruity, grainy flavor. rather bland for an alt. No apparent hopbitterness. Cookies.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local ’Trink & Spare’, best before September 2017. Clear, dark reddish brown with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly spicy aroma of caramel, nuts and hints of red fruits. Sweetish, malty and slightly spicy taste of caramel, nuts, bread and slightest hints of red fruits, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and a little metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite okay, especially for that price.

bottle, kindly donated by pivnizub! Amber colour, fluffy head. Shy and thin malty base, some woody hops and a touch of caramel, very faint, in the far distance.

Thanks Ogi! Right now, looking at the label layout/markings, this seems to be brewed in Oettingen itself, though I can’t be 200% sure. Anyway... bronze/golden-brown body with a big, slightly off white head that went away relatively fast. Interesting aroma... coffee and gummi bears, weak and sweetish. Mild thin coffee taste, vague bite, very weak bitterness. Faaar better than expected, but thin, too thin and watery.

50cl bottle bought in Düsseldorf. Dark Amber with a dense cream head; slightly smoky toffee malt aroma; burnt caramel flavour; with a trace of hops to finish. Note the best Alt I’ve tried, but hardly surprising at 39c a bottle.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. Matly, slightly nutty aroma with some hops. Caramel, some hazel nuts and a good bitterness in the flavor, but rather boring anyway. The finish is quite bitter for the style, and with a touch of metallic flavors. Dry, medium body, a bit over-carbonated. A rather boring one, but not bad. 100327
