Bottled(330ml). -as Bavaria 8.6 Special Blond Beer, courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog (thx!)
Dark golden coloured, small airy white head, sweet alcoholic nose with odd hints of chocolate. Typical cheap malt liquor with sweet malty taste and strong alcohol presence. I’m too old for this beer...

Bavaria 8.6 Special Blond Beer (7.9% alc.), purchased at the Ipercoop in Kaštel Sućurac, shared with ozujsko. Poured an orange tinted gold colour with a medium-small head that went away fast. Nose... dry yet sweetish, milk chocolate, caramel, alcohol. Odd but kinda nice. The taste was a bit of a letdown. Sweet, honeyish malty taste, typical for the style, as is the strong alcohol presence. Touch of caramel. One can sense some chewy hopiness drowned in all of that. Not impressive, but the alcohol presence did seem to get less noticable as I went through the glass, and the malt took the lead. Hoped for more. Ah, well. At least it isn’t offensive. Still, its presence baffles me. Why on earth do we have both the regular 8.6 and this available on the market (through the same importer). Ok, so they cannot be found sitting side by side (yet?) but still...

50 cL can. Pours clear and golden with a diminished white head. Aroma is slight sweet malty. Flavour starts sweet, with a note of caramel. Ends with a minimal bitterness but remains rather sweet. Decent.

A dark golden beer with a white head. The aroma is very fruity, while the flavor is extremely sweet and malty with notes of alcohol giving it a thick body.

Can , 7.9%. Clear copper colour, very small head. Quite clean flavour. Peppery and not too bad. No veg, just a little caramel.

[can] Golden colour. Large head. Sweet aroma with notes of alcohol and marzipan. Sweet flavour with notes of caramell. Alcohol bitter finish. Not as bad as I expected but I won’t have it again.

650 ml very dark blueish green bottle, bought in France. ABV is 7.9%. Golden colour, large lasting head, decent lacing. Malty and fruity aroma with some alcoholic notes, but not unpleasant. Hints of oak and leather. Flavour is very sweet, but surprisingly it is not as repulsive as many other (often less sweet) golden strong lagers. Tolerable hops obviously contribute to a (nearly) acceptable balance. Moderate carbonation. I’ve had worse beers.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear amber with a red, peachy hue and a creamy, off-white head that sticks to the glass. Sweetish, perfumy nose with some alcohol. Full, sweetish body with some caramel and sherry accents, but mainly it’s just alcoholic. Some fruity, perfumy notes. Very discreet bitterness. 120306

65cl bottle from Auchan. Orange gold with wispy white head. Some alcohol heat some golden syrup and a tad medicinal. Some sweet fruit, definite orange. You know what? This isn’t at all bad if you like orange flvoured Chewits. Really rather good when I was expecting something strong and nasty. Would I drink it again? Not sure, but I would recommend people actually trying this special version

Canned. Apparently ramped down in alcohol to avoid heavy French taxes for strong beers. Golden colour. Vegetable vodka aroma, but with less petrol than the regular 8.6. Sweet and not very firm.
