Superior Refreshment
Say Lumen Lager fast, and it rolls off the tongue as easily as this superior lager that uses traditional premium lager brewing techniques and modern ingredients to showcase the best of old and new world flavours. Uniquely, Lumen Lager is packaged in a black bottle so no harsh Australian sunlight can permeate the glass and adversely impact this classic beer's superior taste and freshness. On the nose, it exhibits subtle hints of malt with notes of citrus tropical fruit and slight earth hop aromas, while the fresh and crisp palate sings with tropical floral hops and a delicate bitterness.

330ml bottle into tall lager glass. From BWS, Glen Innes. Packaging is black and gold, looks posh. Crystal clear amber with thin white head and medium carbonation. Aroma of cheap malt and distant pepper. Touch of caramel, lightly effervescent. Slightly bitter and sour to finish. Pretty much a classic premium 'euro-lager', nice and drinkable. Also totally forgettable.

Pinnacle's strategy appears to be: produce something that looks like it might fit in a particular industry niche and hope to share the rents. Sounds stupid but I've met people. Presumably this niche is Crown, the beer for people who like bland beer but would like to signal they paid a bit more for it. So it's in a black bottle, which means premium. Very clear deep gold with a modest white head. Shy aroma is slightly grainy and weedy with hints of boiled vegies. Light bodied, moderate carbonation. Bland with a slight graininess to the sweetness and modest weedy bitterness.
