Bottled. Clear brownish color, short head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt, some hop. Taste is more like an old ale, bit sweet, caramelly, slight roasted, bit bitter.

Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Surprise found among the Broughton’s. Rubyish amber colour with a small, but longlasting beigeish head. Sweet caramel malts and some slight hoppyness and raisins in the nose. Flavour is a lot of fruity hops, with some caramel malts and raisins. Aftertaste is like cherrycores. A really pleasant thing.

500 ml bottle, bought in Edinburgh. ABV is 5.0%. Copper coloured beer, large and lasting off-white head. Malty aroma with vinous notes, also plenty of caramel, notes of bakery. Soft mouthfeel. Malty flavour with caramel and hints of dark fruits, but not as sweet as expected. Very moderate hops, the finish feels a bit "empty". Still a nice enough beer to drink.

Small yellowish head and rather opaque mahogany beer. Mix of chocolate, cacao powder & toasted hard cake. Some dried dark fruit; sweet-smelling but inviting, a bit like some German Bockbiere. Nearly shocking wry-strange taste, starting as human sweat, going over in salty notes - as some raw Japanese sea delicacy - towards a harsh, near-metallic bitterness. Rather empty MF, thin body. Just a lingering bitterness as burnt crust in the aftertaste. Weird beer, IMO. Again one where the nose is not in accordance with the flavour, and I can have problems with that.

500ml bottle from Booths. Deep red with lasting beige head. Malty fruit on aroma, quite smooth in mouth, fruity, red fruits. Quite creamy, bit empty. Nice redcurrant finish. Bit of caramel. Not a great beer, but tasty enough.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very deep amber/bronze colour, limited slightly off-white head. Very malty with an extreme caramel-/toffee-like flavour - but very dry also, not much sweetness. The hops balances out any attempt to sweetness . Quite an exciting beer. 150105

A dark amber beer with a light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty on a sour backgroun - and so is the flavor.
