Draught @ Fox and Hounds, Sønderborg. Pours hazy light copper brown with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of fruit and yeast, and hoppy touches. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweet notes of caramel malt and yeast, and touches of bread and fruit. Bitter and estery aftertaste with malty touches. Warming alcohol presence. Reasonable.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.5%. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Nice aroma of grapefruity and piney American hops, on a background of malts and toffee. The flavour is bitter and fairly sweet, notes of grapefruit and pine / resin again, also caramel and toffee. Hints of over-ripe stonefruits.

Can picked up from Getränkepartner Bierzwerg online store, Greven, Nr Münster. Had this at home Friday 18th August 2023 listening to Afrodeutscha on 6Music. We had BBQ homemade Beef and Blue Cheese Burgers with Spicy Corn on the Cob. Pours dark copper with an off white head. Sweetness initially, molasses, caramel and a little bitterness but considering the style this element is sadly lacking. Some warmth from the alcohol, big malty backbone throughout, it's ok but all told a missed opportunity to go full on Bigfoot I think.

Keg @ CBH 2023. Poured deep amber in color. Bready and malty with touch of raisins. Thick and chewy. Pretty nice actually.

Keg at BD Waterloo, 10/05/23. Copper pour topped with an off white head. Nose is booze, caramel, stewed fruits, toffee, dates. Taste comprises alcohol, fruit cake, sultanas, dried fruit rinds, caramel, toasted brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper but rather a basic model and lacking depth.

On tap at Brewdog - St Pauli (Hamburg), pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out brown sugar, toasted caramel, bready malt and some resinous hops. Flavour is hoppy for a barley wine, with plenty of resinous hops upfront, followed by bready malt, some brown sugar and a dry caramel. Finishes resinous, with a fairly attenuated finish for the style. Solid.
