Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 04/03/24. Almost clear marmalade orange with an off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is orange zest, ripe melon, very subtle barrel notes, grass, mandarin. Taste comprises orange zest, light bourbon kiss, grapefruit, tangerine, pine nip, ripe melon, guava. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced light juicy hop bitterness with a mellow bourbon jacket. Decent enough fayre ... not sure I'm ever likely to jump at BA hoppy beers but this is subtle enough and well executed.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thinnish, a very thin creamy sweetness. Decent hops for a barrel aged job, smooth pine into reasonably bright citrus. A mild undertone of citrus peel. The barrelling is clear enough, a light vanilla oak with a modest fruity bourbon that blends in well with the hops. Light finish. Nice IPA, works well. Think it would work even better at a dipa level.

Can. Color: Hazy orangish golden, thin white head. Aroma: Hoppy, citrus, hints of Bourbon. Taste: A kind of schizophrenic beer. Refreshing hoppy with lots of fruity citrus (lime, some orange) in one way, mostly in the front of the mouth, while in the meantime the sweetish Bourbon and vanilla is particularly present in the back of the throat. Towards the finish these two flavours are merging together. I like this quite unusual mix of base beer and barrels, one of the few of this kind I've had so far. Bonus point for that, Kees! Medium body, average carbonation. Moderate to over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. When standing longer and getting warmer, the Bourbon aroma gets stronger and the two flavours merge better together. Nice.

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', best before April 2025. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity-floral aroma of caramel, honey, dried apricot, quite some vanilla and a touch of bourbon. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, quite fruity-floral taste of caramel, honey, sultanas, dried apricot, vanilla and a touch of bourbon, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly woody finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting beer but not as great as Kees' other BA IPA's, somewhat lacklustre.
