We brewed our first barley wine back in 2021 which has been aging away in Fettercairn whisky barrels for 14 months. Fettercairn is a fantastic distillery located very close to Newbarns Farm in the Strathmore valley. Definitely worth checking out of you haven’t already.

The beer is very much an old school barley wine, malty, spicy, a bit like an upside down pineapple cake… This sticky beast will certainly warm your cockles to finish off this long winter season.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy deep golden body with a few flecks beneath a beige head that quickly fades. Low carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of toffee, raisin, honey, syrup and orange rind. Flavour of caramel and sweet, whisky notes. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is tremendous; the whisky influence is subtle yet complex. A sweet, rich, indulgent treat.

Clear mahogany brown colour with thin head. Aroma of dried fruits, almost like a fruity malt loaf. Taste is jammy and sweet with a nice malt flavour too. Slightly sticky. Just a bit too sweet
