Pours gold from the bottle with a frothy, white crown. Aroma is grassy, herbal. Taste has a bit of sweet, bready malt up front followed by a drawn out, dry, crisp bitterness. Medium body with a faint hint of water at the finish which, interestingly, works for me here. Maybe it’s the hot weather. A good one.

0,5 l bottle. No, not from Erzengel. Purchased at trink gut, Sarstedt, months ago. Clear golden in the glass, more than one finger foamy white head. Grassy smell. Taste starts with a short strong Pilsener bitterness, more than expected. Increasing grainy in the second part, less bitterness. Average stuff.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L's place. Clear yellow. Graininess, corn, a bit of skunkiness, a bit sweetish, bitter finish, light-bodied.

At at asting, thanks, small bubbly head, clear yellow color, light malty, herbal, vanila aroma, herbal and light malty flavor with some graininess, empathic medium bitterness, quite nice and drinkable.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from 'EDEKA Preller' (Breckerfeld), best before July 2018. Clear, golden with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains, some straw and traces of citrus. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy taste of grains and straw, followed by a short, quite bitter, grassy, dry and a little metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid macro Pils.

„Karlsberg Urpils“, Flasche (33 cl) von Getränke Hoffmann, Berlin. - Goldgelb, blank. Durchaus trinkbar.

50cl can from a kiosk at the train station in Trier. Pale golden with a small, white head. Grainy, grassy and herbal aroma with hints of cooked vegetables. Moderate sweet with mild flavours, but a fairly nice bitterness. Hardly memorable, but somewhat drinkable pilsner.
