Old rating - 500ml bottle from the Coop at Beaumont in Jersey. Pours amber with a small white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, grass, flora, biscuit & malts. Medium body. Mildly bitter finish. Drinkable but very average, might be more impressive on a hot day!

500ml bottle. Look - clear gold, fairly thin head. Basic. Nose - typical old style pale aroma of stale citrus and biscuit malts. Taste - very biscuity, floral, grassy, a light old fruity hop. Palate - light but not watery, nice zing on the carbonation. A good refreshing quality. Perfectly drinkable but a fairly stale affair in comparison to the modern beer world. How long can the likes of Robinson's and Marston's churn this stuff out? When will supermarkets pull the plug?

Smooth dry beginning. Very bitter with a dry grainy back. Easy to drink, grainy dry, hints of fruit. Not too pleasant.

Bottle from Cooperative Supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Tawny-gold with a small head. Very light and easy textured hoppy ale with a lower bitterness factor.

Bottle in Lowestoft picked up from the local coop. A clear mid golden coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is nice biscuit grains, hedgerow hop, grass. Flavour is composed of earthy grains, hay, firm grassy bitterness, little dirty, spicy hop, little metallic. Palate is dry, crisp, highish carbonation. Ok.

[50cl bottle from the Co-Op, Milton, Staffs.] A pale amber pour with a loose white head; grassy aroma; sweet floral taste with a biscuity body; then a touch of iodine before a dry floral finish. Definitely summery.
