This limited version of Necessary Evil has been aged in Pedro Ximénez barrels for 8 months. The classic sweet flavours of raisins and dates from the sherry provide an extra layer of intricacy to this award- winning beer. Best served around 10-12°C, so take out of the fridge for a while before serving. Whilst this beer will age well, there is no time like the present, so we recommend opening and enjoying it as soon as possible.

Creamy & finely bubbled pale brown head left a spotty cover & collar on a mahogany coloured body. Chocolate, raisin, Christmas cake & sherry aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth thinning out a little to a dry clean back. Raisin, liquorice, chocolate, Christmas cake, sherry & salty tastes with a tangy fruity finish. Nicely done.

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Black, minimal head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice and dates. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and coffee, licorice and mild sherry. Warming bitter finish.

Bottle. Beer Club job, I think. Clear dark cola brown. Slim dense lasting pale tan head. Smells like rich raisin sherry with a fairly big savoury salty background. Taste is super sweet and raisin like up front with an earthy tobacco leaf bitterness. Slick and a bit chewy. Drinks good for the ABV overall. Lingering earthy bitterness to finish. Tasty gear for sure.

Svart med ett litet skum. Doft av rostad malt, lakrits, sherry och torkade plommon. Smak av lakrits, sherry, ekfat, läkerol och torkade plommon. Alkoholen värmer.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 24/06/23. Black with a moderate khaki head that escapes edgewards. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, light spice, mellow sherry barrel, dried fruit esters, brown sugar dusting. Taste comprises dark chocolate, bitter edge, good Pedro barrel presence, herb, spice, molasses, booze, dates, figs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid sipper ... packs a punch but well balanced and doesn't run overly sweet.

An opaque black brown beer, small tan head. Airy palate, slightly soft and mildy dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft and semi dry dark malts, a little dark malt cream and a touch of dark chocolate. The Pedro Ximinez sits astride very well indeed. Slightly savoury, a modest sweetness and that rich ripe fruitiness. Finishes smooth with a very mild alcohol spice. Mellifluous and rich but hides the alcohol very well indeed. Dangerously crushable.
