Just a bit darker as gold. Medium bodied. Hops, licorice, lots of fruits, especially pear and peach. Not too much carbon. Hoppy, fruity aftertaste. Typical Franconian, an easy drinker with quality.

Bottled (backlog, thanks fonefan!). Yellowish golden colour, with a small white head. Aroma is grains, malts, mild floral and earthcellary notes. Flavour is grass, some floral notes, bready malts as well as mild salty notes.

Aroma of some slightly vegetal yeast, a bit of malt and some noble hops. Flavor has some slightly bready malt sweetness.

Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, dark golden appearance with a cream colored head. Toasted grain, light yeasty, slight grassy aroma but not too much going on. Sweet toasted grainy malty, lightly chewy, mild fruity, grassy, hay flavor. Ok.

Bottle picked up from the Brauerei Andreas Sauer, Gunzendorf, during Fin and Loz’s cycle ride around villages to the South and South East of Bamberg, Germany 19-06-10 consumed August 2010 Pours rusty amber colour with good clarity and a few shards of gold shining through, in fact this is quite a dark lagerbier. Lovely simple nose, sweet with cereal and malt aromas. Tasty but sweet also in the mouth, some lagery and caramel flavour’s combining. Tasty stuff and I’m quite surprised by the low ratings. (bottle) Clear, amber colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly dusty cara-malty and minimal bready aroma with subtle fruity notes. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Caramel-malty, slightly bready and biscuity taste with shy herbal accents towards the sweet and slightly bitter finish. Not a must while being in Franconia but nice enough. 27.IV.10

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. Weak nose with grains and some fruits. The flavor has some bitterness, else it’s grains and a fruity touch. Short finish and thin to medium body. Like so many German beers, this one is probably better drank in a biergarten as a thirst quencher, because from the bottle it’s as boring as hell. 090821

Bottle, 4.9%, I think it was called Landbier. Mild papery aroma. Clear yellow colour. Very small frothy white head. The flavour is quite bitter, slightly unpleasant. Has a little fruit note, but is otherwise clean.
