Epic lager collaboration with Bierstadt and Heater Allen
While imbibing many Czech lagers at Resident Culture’s Lager Fest in Charlotte, NC, Ashleigh and Bill from Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver, Lisa Allen from Heater Allen in McMinnville and Kevin from Wayfinder reminisced about their favorite places to have a beer in the world. Ashleigh and Bill spoke fondly of the Golden Tiger in Prague. It was decided to join forces and brew an epic collab Czech lager: Polotmavý 13°. The result is a triple-decocted amber lager using a blend of the best floor-malted dark malts from Czechia, and our finest sourced Saaz and Sladek hops. Na zdraví!

Hommage to one of the best pubs in Prague! Bright gold. Thin head. Big malt, herbaceous hops, well balanced. Great hommage…it’s an more of an Urquell than polotmavy but it's done well.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is dry, with bready malt and some toasted nuts. Flavour is dry and bitter, closer to a pils, with dry bready malt, straw, and gentle hoppy bitterness. Finishes nearly bone dry, with a crisp, bready finish. Very good.

Norm's in a can: pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, earthy, light hoppy notes. Taste is lightly bitter, not too sweet. Well-balanced. Solid stuff.

US Pint can from Valley Brewers, drank in our Solvang hotel room on 7th July 2024. Clean and clear bright amber/copper body, fast fading white head. Semi-sweet malty feel to this one, light hop bitterness creeps in late on, but it's the malts that make this.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Bright, amber orange pour. Large, pillowy beige head is enduring. Malty, toasted grain aroma. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront. Earthy grain leads to peppery Saaz hops. Some caramel and buttery notes. Dry, bitter finish.

Lots of saaz here. Really tastes more like a Czech pils. Amber pour, a little caramel. Bitter finish, poured at Snally.
