Unusual name, unusual beer. The Waggle Dance is a movement a bee performs to alert the hive of a source of nectar.
Waggle Dance is brewed with a touch of honey which gives it a taste of summer no matter when you raise a glass. This is balanced by a healthy does of hops to provide the bitterness that gives a wonderfully delictae flavour. The overall result is beautifully balanced and sneakily seductive.
Pale ale and crystal malt, Fuggle and Golding hops together with South American honey create this delicious golden ale with a superb honey aroma.

0,5 bottle. (as Eagle Waggle Dacne) The label is a bit childish, but it doesn't matter. It was a beautiful amber color when filled, the head was also attractive, not too thick, but it remained thin. The aroma is green, resinous, hoppy, with sweetness only in the background. (A small honey effect is really noticeable in the aroma as well). Light (slightly watery) sipping sensation, it doesn't reach the bitterness of a basic English ale, nor its body. At the same time, it is interesting, because it is quite spicy, and the aftertaste is diverse. Honeyness can also be explained, but it is more of a mixture of pine resin-raisin-and some light candy hidden in the aftertaste.
*

Honey, flowery aroma. Hoppy flavor with honey and blackcurrant. Not entirely convincing.

From December 2006 (BA): This 500ml clear bottle with the funky new label design will be one of the last reviews of this beer from its traditional home in London. I know this is from the original brewery because the label says so and the best by date is 14 June 2007. Brewing stopped a short time ago and moved to Bedford. This Waggle Dance was consummed on Saturday 16th Dec 2006. Clear, bright and light copper in colour, with a good white foam head, which stayed the duration of the pint. The aroma was of coffee and toffee, no honey stuck to my nose. Funny taste, not unpleasant, but strange, sweetish, but with a hoppy bitterness that leaves a dry taste in your mouth. I have had it in cask before and enjoyed it more, my wife drinks it on draught, she tried this bottle and prefers the draught version.

Originally rated September 2004. This ale poured a golden-amber colour with a good head, and some lacing. The nose was weak with confusing aromas. Could mostly smell the alcohol. Tasted fruity, but not much on the honey side. Smooth mouthfeel. Good, but deceiving for a brew from Young’s Brewery.

Warning! Early amateur rating! I don’t know about a honey beer - this tastes a lot more like a flat and uninteresting lager.

From old notes. Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a large white head. The aroma was tangy, sour and a bit sweet basic ale. The flavor was tangy, mildly sweet and had only the slightest touch of honey. The finish was medium length, tangy and had a faint hint of caramel. Ok.
