We firmly believe that one particularly good beer is better than a bucketful of seasonals. So, although it may be a bit cheeky, we have one winter ale that forms the basis of our seasonal range.
This delicious 5% beer is dark ruby in colour and has a well balanced flavour with a bittersweet chocolate edge. This comes from the careful use of Fuggles and Challenger hops.

Fra cask på The Mossy Well: klar rødlig kastanjefarge med fint skum som varer lenge. Ristet brød, mørke bær, noe sjokolade og hint av kaffe. Fin bitterhet og god maltsmak.

Bottle online from the Otter Brewery. Pours a clear chestnut colour with a thin white head. Aromas of fruit cake, toffee, caramel and spice. Taste has more of the same notes, fruity with lots of caramel, an added touch of tobacco and also a little brown sugar. Good balance between the sweetness and a gentle earthy bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily and sticky mouthfeel. Very Christmasy beer. I liked it.

Cask at the Falcon, HWY, first rate of this bier for two years as of tomorrow, 07/12/19. Lightly hazed chestnut amber with a well presented light beige head. Nose is sweet malts, light spice, dried fruits, toffee, brown sugar. Taste comprises fruit cake, berry skins, light tobacco pouch, caramel, wooded notes, dstes, sugar dusting. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent Xmas beer ... has some flavour compared to most.

Strong toffee and caramelaroma. Sweetish taste with caramel, hops, blackcurrant and just a bit of roasted malt. Just a bit thin, but a delicious British ale.

Poppy Otter: cask pint in The White Hart, Shifnal Shropshire on 16th Nov 2016. Deep amber pour, full white head that gave some good lacing. Malts to the fore here, but the finish is fairly bitter. A woody flavoured brew with enough going on to keep you interested until the last drop.

Appearance is amber and clear, lots of bubbles rising, with a large, thick white head. Aroma- hops, caramel malt, sweet bread, nutty hints. Taste- fruity hops, which bring some bitterness, balanced against sweet caramel and toffee malt. Quite a thin mouthfeel, with a short finish.
