On tap at the Grand Delancey. Pours brown. Bourbon, lemon peel, creamy, raisin, bourbon soaked figs, sweet fresh figs. Good soft body. Bright and lively in a way barley wines usually aren’t. Excellent.

Can split at the optimal climatic conditions tasting, Hazlemere, thanks to Dave 11/08/21. Hazed orange amber with an off white cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is liquid fruit cake, mellow bourbon nostril tickle, caramel, figs, dates, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises more fruit cake tones, toffee, molasses, brown sugar dusting, light hop prickle, candied fruit peel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid BA BW ... Bourbon pitched very well and carries some bitterness to balance the sweet.

Tasting at Chez Cloin. Thanks to Wingman for this rare bottle. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Smooth and fruity bourbon, nice vanilla oak. Little spice. Dried fruits and vanilla on the finish. Rich and with good depth but light on its toes. Very nice indeed.
