Draught. Beautiful looking in the glass. Dark brown to black with a solid head. Aroma is roast malt. Flavour is roast, malty but a bit thin, could be more.

Bottle, thanks to Koelschtrinker’s EuroSanta gift. A pretty average and rather boring Schwarz, but it’s not bad. Some liquorice, some caramel, otherwise simply quaffable.

Bottle. Pours hazy very dark copper brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with touches of caramel and bread. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of caramel malt and touches of yeast, hops and metal. Bitterish aftertaste. Watery. Drinkable but nothing special.

Mildes, nicht zu tiefes, nett lakritziges Bier. Sehr weich, kaum tief, sehr süffig-würzig. Kaum Herbe, nettes, irgendwie entbittertes Röstmalz mit netter Lakritze. Flach, es fehlt die Herbe. Schade.

0,33 l bottle, thanks to kappldav123. Pours nearly black, tanned head. More spicy and pepper than malt on the nose. Starts rostmalty, dark coffie, light sweetness, little bit metallic. Mid sourness and grainy, gets a little bit thinner in the second stage. But a good one with his own character.

Feb 2007: Brown 33ml bottle, 5.1%, bought at Green Week, Berlin. Poured into its own breweries vase type glass, it looks the business. Very dark, even for a schwarzbier, its head, which is cream in colour soon goes to just a rim around the glass. Malty, dark chocolate and burnt caramel is the aroma that I detect. Malts, chocolate malts and molasses give the typical taste of this style. The flavours stay for longer than some schwarzbiers, a burnt caramel overides everything else, very pleasant. This is an OK beer, try it if you see it, I will give it another go, if I ever see it on tap.

Golden-brown. The aroma is a bit toasty with light cocoa character. Thin, crackerlike character. Not much going on here.
