Rich, smooth and full of character, Trodden is a tribute to the time-honored traditions of Czech brewing. This dark lager combines the best of malty sweetness and earthy depth, creating a well-balanced beer that is both robust and approachable. The deep brown hue reflects its rich malt profile, with layers of toasted bread, caramel, and subtle hints of chocolate. A delicate hop bitterness on the finish keeps the sweetness balanced, ensuring a clean and satisfying end to every sip.

Can from Liquor Junction, Reading. Dark brown/ruby with nice sparkle, thin head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is lightly toasted malt, Czech bittering hops. Taste follows aroma; mild toffee, very late chocolate. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and toasted/hoppy mild bitterness in the finish. Spot on for the style.

16 ounce can from Canal’s in Mount Ephraim. Nearly opaque dark brown color. Large frothy tan head. Big roasted malt aroma hints at chocolate. Flavor follows nose. Dark malt, chocolate, brown bread. A hint of chalkiness on backend. Smooth and flavorful.

Brewery draught, 11/11/23. Clear, dark mahogany. Small, light-tan head to spotty cover quickly. Strong hazelnut and roast. Big coffee. Maybe a bit heavy-handed on the dark malt? Clean. Yeah, lots of cola, rosey, licorice, rather grainy and scratchy. Too much dark malt, sadly, but clean.

14 oz. Draft. Rich flavor for a lager. Mild chocolate with a good amount of lingering earthy, malty tones. Appropriate body and carb. Nice easy drinking dark lager.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Mocha micro head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Dark chocolate, espresso, licorice and soy aromas. Soft with smoked molasses, dark cocoa, and licorice upfront turning to dark earthy bark in the lasting finish. Nice.
