Old rating - A 500ml bottle I've had from somewhere last Xmas, cellared & enjoyed today at a BBQ! Pours a brown colour with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of toffee, caramel, raisins, nuts, liquorice, hints of spice & sweet malt. Well balanced. Very well made winter ale

Bottle conditioned. Porto and raisin aroma and flavor. Sweet with just a hint of oak, also a hint of rubber. Just a bit of alcohol. Cinnamon and caramel. Well worth a try.

Bottle from Mayford Garden Centre, Woking. Interesting aroma - sweet, almost pastry like. Something like fig rolls. Chestnut. Bubbly but also creamy off-white head. Medium bitter with sweet and sour traits. Rich. Vinous. Fruity. Malty. Medium bodied. Slick. A low key fizz of carbonation, go big it a softness. Relatively abrupt finish. Enjoyable. Warming. Good stuff.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - amber with a decent thin head. Nose - fudge and general confected notes. Taste - more fudge, something approaching but not reaching marzipan. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy/tangy texture. Some dry but sweet finish. Overall - good beer.
